Essex County Council is proud to support the Student Social Worker of the Year Award 2025. This award recognises the dedication and impact of those entering the social work profession.

Each year, the council supports around 150 students across a variety of programmes, contributing to the development of skilled and compassionate practitioners.

Social care is a deeply rewarding area to work in, but it can also be one of the most demanding. Social workers play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, children, young people, and adults through both challenging and celebratory moments, making a meaningful difference every day.

Essex County Council holds an Outstanding Ofsted rating for Children and Families Services and a Good CQC rating for Adult Social Care, reflecting a commitment to high-quality practice and continuous improvement.
